The Coalition of Colorful Women (CoCW) is the brainchild of Founder Diana White. After attending a conference in 2022, Diana realized that many young women of color were in attendance who were educated and accomplished but still lacked a sense of belonging and empowerment. Diana’s first thought was, “These young women need a village.” Her first step was to reach out to the more experienced, successful women in her life to see if they had the same sentiment. These amazing “Aunties” agreed something was missing for the next generation of colorful women. But what was the missing ingredient? It was simple. A safe space and a caring, empathetic, compassionate ear. A group of like-minded women there to support and guide based on their experiences without judgment. A space where these young “Nieces” can talk about the daily challenges they face with marginalization, microaggressions, and racism. But also, a place to celebrate accomplishments and share ideals and dreams without fear of ridicule or oppression. The CoCW is that place. An engaging and embracing village of Aunties all focused on ensuring our Nieces have confidants, truth-tellers, cheerleaders, and words of wisdom. We are committed to empowering our Nieces and breaking some generational cycles. We are determined to show the beauty in being a woman of color, whether you’re part of the African Diaspora, Latina, or Indigenous, or your DNA is a blend of the two people that saw past their racial differences to create you. If you consider yourself a woman of color, this may be the village you’ve been searching for.
Let us help you see that you are unique, beautiful, and you are worthy.
